Our Parish
St. John the Baptist Church • Kannapolis NC
A Foundation Built on Faith and Generosity
St. John The Baptizer is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America in the Diocese of the South. Our journey began in 2006, serving the spiritual needs of the Romanian and English-speaking community in Charlotte and its surrounding areas.
A pivotal moment in our history occurred in 2014, when this property was graciously donated by Mr. Dan Manolescu to the Romanian Orthodox community of the Charlotte area. This act of stewardship provided a permanent home for our growing family of believers.
The St. John the Baptizer Church reached a significant spiritual milestone when it was sanctified on May 12th, 2018, by His Grace Archbishop Nathaniel from the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America and Canada.
